If the "bad reputation" you're talking about is in regards to the fatal Red Ring of Death issues a lot of the original versions of the Xbox 360 had, I'm pretty sure they've fixed those issues with the Xbox 360 Elite onwards. I haven't had any issues with my Elite however my original Xbox 360 I got on its release date died from the RROD three years after I got it. I guess I was one of the lucky ones.
THIS is a red ring of death I however wouldn't mind getting. (her eyes)

While unlike with Nintendo who is known for their build quality I probably wouldn't trust a launch system from Sony or Microsoft. That said they fixed their problems with the 360 years ago and the system is as stable as any other at this point.
My white wish has been granted!
While I agree with you on Nintendo usually do make their consoles pretty sturdy, you have to admit they did drop the ball so to speak on the 3DS a little. I'm not talking about the 5 hour battery life compared to like the 12 hour+ on the original DS, I have no problem with 5 hours, if you ask me 5 hours is more than enough; if you want to play it for the entire day, just hook it up to its charge and lay down or sit down somewhere comfortably. But Nintendo failed with the design of the 3DS by not including two thumb sticks in the first place. In the beginning I didn't even think about it. But when they announced that extra add-on that adds a second thumbstick which we're going to need to play Kingdom Hearts: Dream Drop Distance and other games.
I can't believe they didn't think about this beforehand, now I have to purchase that circle pad that turns your 3DS into a brick. It doesn't look too comfortable from the images I've seen.

My standard "half-broken" DS's battery limit lasts only about 4 hours nonstop.
That fills me with hope for the extra circle pad, thanks for telling me. I hope I find it as comfortable as the people who have already tried it out. I guess I'm going to have to also purchase some of those rechargeable batteries for when the time comes where I have to replace the battery in the circle pad. I know it has something like 400+ hours of use before you need to replace them, but it's still always better to be prepared for when that does actually happen.
Besides, once Kingdom Hearts: Dream Drop Distance comes out, I'm more than sure I'll need to replace them at some point while I'm playing that.

Is Monster Hunter coming to Europe on the 3DS? I never had a chance to play one of the Monster Hunter games before but I've heard a lot of good reviews about their games. I only own an Xbox 360 and 3DS, so those types of games are very scarce for me since I only have one console that they may end up being on. I had none until the 3DS came out, I doubt a Monster Hunter game would of came out on a DS.
