Dragon Ball: Attack of the Saiyans Cheats And Tips

1~. How to unlock and fight

The procedure required to fight this secret boss isn't that hard to
follow, but it can be tricky if you don't know what you're doing, or if
you simply can't understand the language in which you're playing this
game. Then, defeating him is whole different story, but if you're having
trouble with that particular part you can jump straight to the next
section, where I give you several battle strategies.

Anyway, in order to unlock this battle, you first have to play the whole
game, as you'd normally do. Eventually, you'll reach a point in the
storyline where your party will be reduced to Goku, Krillin and Gohan,
which basically happens when you've defeated Nappa. Afterwise, go back to
the world map and you'll be able to spot up to seven locations with
sparkling crosses around them. By going to such location, and equipping
the "Dragon Radar" capsule (which you can use by holding the 'Y' button),
you'll be able to grab one (or two, depending on how lucky you are) of the
    famed balls.
Unfortunately, since their location is random, I cannot pinpoint you the
location of all the balls, but I can give you a small hint - once you've
entered one of the areas where each of the balls is currently placed, each
of these items is generally placed in the deepest part of the dungeon,
which is even easier to locate if you simply use the "Dragon Radar", as
    stated above.

Once you've grabbed all seven of the dragon balls, you'll be instantly
granted your wish. More information on the wishes here available can be
found in the "Frequently Asked Questions" section, but what really matters
to unlock this secret boss is that you pick the sixth (or last, depending
on which wishes you may have asked before) one, which will unlock the
battle which this guide refers to. Be aware that, once you've asked for
your wish, all the seven balls will split up once again, and you can
recover them to ask for additional wishes, in case you picked the wrong
    option, or something like that.

After you've asked for the aforementioned wish, you still have to locate
the position where your opponent was placed. So, head back to the world
map and visit the southeastern area in the main continent, the one that
leads to Goku's house, and where you can see two, very-alike, areas. Enter
the one on the right, turn left on the bridge, leave the next area by the
upper exit and keep on walking until you see a wooden sign pointing to the
right. Take that path to the right, but be very careful, since all the
enemies placed here are extremely strong, and random battles are also
awfully common. Keep on walking to the right and, in front of a huge rock
formation that is shaped like a dragon's head, you'll see a purple portal,
which you should enter in order to fight this battle, but I advise you
against it until you've saved your game.

Now, on to some battle strategies...

    2~. Battle Strategies

    Broly has a power level of 999999, 85000 HP and gives a ton of experience;
however, if you've defeated him, I really doubt you'll need the enormous
number of experience points he gives you (99000 EXP), hum?

    Anyway, in order to beat this battle, there's an easy and an hard way out;
if you feel like you have too much free time in your hands, you can simply
level up your characters (at least your three main ones) until they are
all around level 90, and then throw everything you've got at this
particular boss, who by then will easily go down, no matter which
equipment you give your characters. Sure, doing so is extremely boring,
but it would also turn this battle into a complete no-brainer, which is
probably the most fitting strategy if you're a newbie in this game, or
RPGs in general... probably you aren't, or you wouldn't have made it this
far, so I'll give you a more fitting strategy.

First of all, put your strongest three characters in your party. Goku must
obviously be there, and I advise you to take Gohan too, but the third spot
is really up to you (personally, I decided to pick Piccolo, but you may go
with your favourite character). In terms of items, I strongly suggest you
equip Goku with "Cha-la Head-cha-la" (doing so will prevent him from being
inflicted with adverse special effects, you can get this item in the area
where Piccolo taught Gohan, by destroying one of the huge rocks and
getting it from inside one of the treasure chests), and all your
characters with items that improve their stats, most specifically defense,
    which is the second stat.

As soon as the battle begins, use Goku's last special move (it raises his
own evasion for a limited number of turns). Then, constantly strike with
his second special move (the combo which is followed by Kamehameha), until
he attains the "SPARKLING" effect; when that happens, quickly use his
"Kaioken" (the first move from the "S" menu) and continue striking with
his second special move. Every time the effect of the "Kaioken", or the
evasion effect, wears off, I strongly suggest you recast it, and continue
following this same strategy. Don't bother using Goku's "Genkidama", since
it takes a while to be cast and that may lead to trouble, if Broly decides
to strike your entire party with his most powerful attack.

Gohan should start by using his fourth special move, which increases his
own attack. Then, you should basically use this character as a healer,
casting his last special move each time Broly damages your entire party,
or simply using one of the healing items you have available, either
healing a single character's HP or reposing the KI of one of your
characters (if their KI goes down to a point where you just can't use any
special moves). If everyone is at full health, use his first, or third,
special move (this choice depends on which one better fits the way you've
been improving this character). Follow this same strategy for the rest of
    the battle.

Concerning your third character, no matter who you pick you should simply
use his strongest special attack whenever possible. If he attains the
"SPARKLING" effect, simply use his strongest move, but don't bother going
for double/triple combos; instead, focus on the strategy I've mentioned
here, or you may be put into trouble.

If you keep on following this strategy, and your stats are strong enough
to withstand the powerful attacks that Broly uses from time to time, you
will eventually be able to defeat him. If not, and you're just suffering
too much damage, I really suggest you go explore the world, getting a few
more levels in your characters, improving their stats, getting them all
sorts of new items, and so on. Eventually, if you're doing it right and
you stick to it, this strategy is more than enough to annihilate your
    opponent.

    FAQ. Frequently Asked Questions

Some of the questions you, readers, may have...

Q: [Insert something here], where should I go next?

A: Did you noticed that this is merely a FAQ, not a FAQ/Walkthrough? I
don't really cover that part of the game (chances are that I can't
even recall what I did in a certain part of the game), but if you are
really stuck, this game features an in-game walkthrough, which can be
accessed by picking the crystal ball from the in-game menu, and then
selecting the first option. Awkward, and yet useful...

Q: What wishes can I ask for, by using the Dragon Balls?

A: You can basically ask for six different wishes. The first three, which
you can ask for as many times as you want, are a ton of EXP, a lot of
AP and lots of Zeni (i.e. money). Also in order, and which you can only
ask for once, the other three give you access to a new area (placed in
the upper right city, talk to one of the men in a suit to go there), to
a unique item (which apparently increases your EXP by walking) and the
access to the secret boss, as detailed in previous sections of this
    same guide.

Q: How do I acquire Krillin's last "S" special move?

A: Later in the game, visit Korin's Tower, put Krillin as the first
character in your party (i.e. the one that is seen outside of the
battlefield) and talk to Yajirobe. By doing so, you'll unlock this
secret special move, which can be upgraded as usual.

Q: Yamcha, Tenshinhan and Piccolo died! Can I get them back?

A:Yes, you can. Before the battle against Vegeta, go all the way back to
Uranai Baba's palace and talk to her. Doing so allows you to revive
those three characters, which you can then add to your party.

Q: How can I go back to heaven?

A: Before the battle against Vegeta, go back to Uranai Baba's palace and
talk to the pink ghost placed to the left of Baba. By selecting the
proper option, you'll be taken back to heaven, which you can further
    explore.

Q: What happens if I capture all the monsters?

A: Depending on the number of monsters you capture, you'll get different
rewards. 30 monsters get you an "Offense Ring", 60 give you a "Good
Rice Cooker Capsule", 120 give you "Kami's Gi" and all 150 give you
    "Spark Boots Capsule".
