According to the Daizenshuu EX fansite, it seems that in a possible future that the Episode of Bardock manga special is going to have an anime counterpart, based of the manga that Naho Ooishi wrote.

There's also a little something called "SSSS Project", or "Saikyo Super Saiyan Secret Project" for the long text. And it seems to be a codeword for at least one future project i am unaware of.

I wouldn't be surprised. After all, the special with Tarble became a manga. It makes sense for the special for Bardock to become an anime.

I wouldn't watch it. It's weird, I always thought I was a fan of the Dragon Ball series. Or at least somewhat of a fan. I'm in no way as much of a fan like most people here are.
But I tried to watch some Dragon Ball episodes and movies again after a long while and I just couldn't get past the first few minutes of any episode or movie. Now I find it really boring.
Yet I continue to have fun with these games. I'm a strange guy.

Try to watch the original Dragonball, I think it's the most satisfying of the series. And I too feel I don't get into watching some of the movies, some of 'em aren't good imo.

But I'm def not watching these specials. I havent been. It's blasphemy. ...

I would not say blasphemy if it's opening another door that hasn't been touched in the franchise yet.

@Kokos. My guess is that you're looking for the fast-paced action, rather than the goofy-ness that the Dragonball episodes and movies usually provides.

I'm pretty happy with this idea. Especially if they spend more time with it fleshing it out. I know it was never meant to be a long story but it could have used an extra chapter or two still.

I'd rather it had a chapter or two less. Now it's gonna be no time before we're given a SSJ Bardock in the games. Bloody gimmicks.

It was going to happen anyhow since the stuff that comes to DB: Heros eventually trickles down to consul titles.

Yeah I guess. But now it somewhat could make it arguable that including him is legit.

This is exactly what i thought of back when the manga was still being written, and i would have loved to see the Golden Oozaru Bardock/Ssj4 theory come true, but only as a continuation of the anime counterpart rather than the book version.

So Chilled and Tobi were never created for that purpose to give Bardock a certain future/backwards story? And are they actually what-if characters and not brandnew ones to the franchise?

I have no opinion on it. It if became a movie special then, -shrugs- yeah I'd watch it.
